Most would say that my passion for the law started as a child growing up in Buffalo, New York, observing my father, also a trial attorney, attend court. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I also knew that winters in Buffalo were too harsh for my liking and so I made my way to South Carolina where I attended the College of Charleston majoring in political science and graduating with high honors. As if South Carolina was not warm enough, I decided to continue my travels south and attended the University of Miami School of Law.

Since graduation from the University of Miami School of Law in 2005, I have focused my practice on providing representation to insurance and corporate clients in the areas of property and casualty defense, professional liability defense, premises liability defense, construction defect, product liability, commercial and business litigation, and defense of complex tort claims.

As a trial attorney, I handle litigation matters throughout the State of Florida. In recent years I have had the opportunity to defend a large number of cases related to product defect, professional liability, and high exposure premises liability cases. As a result of my knowledge in these areas, I frequently consult with corporations and developers on limiting risk exposure. Although I enjoy being in the courtroom more than any part of my practice, I also belong to several organizations including the American Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association, Claims Litigation Alliance, Defense Bar Institute, and National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) which provides opportunities to speak to fellow attorneys and insurance industry professionals on a wide variety of subject matters, including: proper claims handling; bad faith; coverage matters; extra contractural damages, and defense of lawsuits with letters of protections.

I am honored that for each of the past 8 years, I have been selected as one of the top up and coming lawyers under 40 and was also selected as one of Florida’s “Legal Elite” in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, an honor bestowed upon less than two percent of Florida’s attorneys.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf, exercising, politics, finance, watching the Buffalo Bills, and spending time with my wife, also an attorney and law school professor, and son.
